Minnesota Association for Volunteer Administration inspires excellence in leadership of volunteers to impact communities.

Pikes Peak Volunteer Engagement Initiative (PPVEI) – Colorado Springs, CO
A major funding area for The Leighty Foundation is building the capacity of our communities and nonprofit organizations to effectively engage an increased number of volunteers.  Since 2011, Program Director Jane L. Justis initiated and lead PPVEI in Colorado Springs.  This year, Center for Nonprofit Excellence will provide PPVEI leadership to deepen the understanding and practices of nonprofit organizations regarding the empowerment of volunteer resources.

Providing leadership for the continuation of Pikes Peak Volunteer Engagement Initiative (PPVEI)
Center for Nonprofit Excellence strengthens Southern Colorado’s nonprofit sector through leadership and resource development, advocacy and collaboration.  The PPVEI seeks to increase the effectiveness of nonprofit volunteer engagement strategies in the Colorado Springs, CO area.  The goal is to enhance organizational missions thereby increasingly meeting community needs.  A core belief is that volunteerism is not a program, but a critical strategy for achieving community impact.

Chaddock Children’s Foundation – Quincy, IL
Building Project
Chaddock offers hope and healing to children and families by providing innovative services in caring settings.

Operation Rainbow, Inc – Oakland, CA
Orthopedic Medical Missions for Children
Operation Rainbow performs free orthopedic surgery for indigent children and young adults in developing countries worldwide who do not have access to related medical procedures or equipment.

Waterloo Development Corporation – Waterloo, IA Cedar Valley SportsPlex Waterloo Development Corporation promotes civic, industrial, mercantile, traffic and transportation, agricultural and other interests of Waterloo, Cedar Falls, and Northeast Iowa areas. The entity works closely with the communities to enhance social, recreational, and educational opportunities in the area.

DIRECT CHARITABLE ACTIVITIES

Program  Director Jane Leighty Justis is active in leadership and work with local, regional and national organizations which support volunteer engagement and the promotion of philanthropy.  Program Director Bill Leighty collaborates in energy policy research and presents papers at local, national, and international energy conferences.

The historic Leighty family home in Macomb, Illinois is owned by The Leighty Foundation. It is managed by the Western Illiniois Regional Council-Community Action Agency for temporary housing for women and children, especially those recovering from domestic abuse.
